About 1750, shortly afterh the appointment of Joseph's estate, three of his sons, Soloman, Jonas, and probably Jonathan, went southward to Western North Carolina where they settled in Rowan County. .....Sarah married William Estep. They had sons Manuel and Thomas. Sarah would visit her sister Elizabeth at least once a year and attend the Peniel Church. She was a nice lady.

.....Lottie Married Noah Midkiff. They lived on the mountain above Ramsey Hollow. They used to walk off of the mountain to the Peniel Church and to other churches. They are buried, with their daughter, on a knoll above their house. They were both faithful Christians.

.....Nancy Melinda married a Baldwin. She died in Arizona.

.....Lucy was the oldest and married Matt Booth. She moved to Pennslyvania. Her crandchildren used to visit Elizabeth, Hillman, and Woody Cox. I met them during their visits and enjoyed ther company.

.....Patty married John Wesley Lowe. She lived in the area so I knew her fairly well. She visited Lizzy often and attended Peniel. Her great grandson James and Joe Lowe are among my grandson's best friends.
