Selected Chapters from Our Mountain of Refuge

.....This is the first long novel that I wrote. It was written before I earned a degree in Engliish. Therefore, I am not only retyping it, I am updating writing as well. I found that, in the first writing, I was to fond of the passive case. I am attempting to change as much as the passive to the active case where possible.
,,,,,Al but about five of the good folks in the book are based on real people. Only the last names have been altered a little.
The main motif is survival of the group against all odds.
The second motif is the struggle to remain people of God while being a people of war. This struggle was nearly fatal.
The third motif is food. The discription of the food and its processing and prepreation seemed importnant to me.
