Update: I have had catarac surgery which has changed my vision. I can still see clearly in the distance but my close up vision has been ruined. I have decided to give up driving, but I have not neem forced to retire. God has provided and has again proven Satan to be a liar.
I had been wearing glasses since I was fifteen. For the past severeal years, I had been going blind. I had quit going to the eye doctor because he always asked, "Are you still driving?"
Satan told me, "When you reach 70, you can retire and go sit in another pastor's church." But that was just a lie. But, all that Satan has is a lie. For the past three years, God has been filling me with a what he wants me to preach. Now, I know that you do not gas up a car and then put it on blocks. So, I knew that God was not going to do that to me.
Early this summer, I began teaching a class on a little book called Effectively Praying for the Lost. This provided another piece of the message that God was giving me. Although I had been prayed for before, Satan always wispered in my ear, "You won't be healed."
One early summer day, I went out into my garden. I got down on my knees and laid hands on my own eyes. I confronted Satan with his lie, and believed God for my healing. I went on my way.
In September, I attended one of my granson's away football games. Two people, who I believe have a special call of God on their lives, but who were running from Him, rode home with me in my truck. They began to ask questions. I just answered them the best i could as the Spirit led me. These individuals botj said that it was God who put them in the truck with me that night.
The next day, my glasses dissapeared. I couldn't even remember where they might be. I had to go after my wife that night without my glasses. I did ok. The next day was the same. On Sunday morning, I dropped my wife off at her work place and stopped at Hardys for a biscuit. When I came back out, I looked across the lot at the Food Lion sign. It was in perfect focus. I went to church and taught without my reading glasses. Before, it was a struggle to read with them.
I am living now for the first time in 54 years without my glasses. I never did find them. The other day, my grandson and I were out in the yard when we saw a large hawk flying low overhead. We watched as the big bird caught a thermal. Soon it was just a black spec in the sky. I said, "Boy he is way up there!" Jonathan said, "You mean that you can see that bird?!"
Without any fanfare, any other hands being laid on except for my own, or any annointing of oil, I was healed. No person received the glory. It all went to God.
With my healing, God confirmed what he has been giving me to tell His people. I have a new development. I have developed cataracts. I am looking for God to heal these also. God bless Okey
