Am I a Freeman?

The essential question that I have to deal with as a human being is “Whom do I belong to?”   To state the question another way would be to ask, “Whom do I owe allegiance to?”   Since I am a human being, and I have to deal with this question, then so must every other human being deal with this question.

In John 1:3 we read, all things were made by Him (Christ); and without Him was not anything made.”   All things include all things that are material (things that you can touch, taste, see) and all things immaterial.  These immaterial things would include the human mind including the processes of the human mind such as ideas.   I would also include what I call possibilities that are the sources from every thing from the wheel to the computer.  But, the most important of these immaterial creations is the human soul.  And the soul is the human being.   The thought processes determine who that human being is.  The way I think is who I am.  And, the way I think determines who I am going to pay owe allegiance to.  This old earthly vehicle, my body, is not who I am.  My mind is who I am and all of my battles are fought in my mind.

Having said all that, I will make this belief statement:  “I believe that, since Christ created every soul, Christ owns every soul.   Since the soul is the human being, then Christ owns every person no matter who they pay their allegiance to.  Christ also owns us because He bought us with his shed blood on the cross.  Because he owns us, he will have the right to judge us.

I believe that are three categories of allegiance for the human mind:  those who are sold out to their creator, those who are directly serving the enemy, and those who serve themselves.

Number one, the number of those who have sold out to their creator and not only but pay their allegiance to God is very large and growing because of the movement  of the Holy Spirit across the face of the World.  Although the numbers are growing across the world, the growth is much slower in America.   That is because of the misunderstanding of most American Christians of their role in the Kingdom of God.    They do not understand that their basic calling is that of a soul winner.  They do not understand that they are called into Spiritual Warfare.  They do not understand that spiritual warfare is prayer.

However, there are those who are moving in the Spirit by answering their basic calling.   They are sold out to God and he is number one in their lives.  They understand that they are called into spiritual warfare and that that spiritual warfare is prayer.  They understand that prayer is the gateway to the harvest field.  They understand that their primary service to God is not inside the walls of some church building but out where the lost sheep are.   They understand that material gain and the Economy is not more important than God in their lives.  Christ said in Matt. 6:24, “No one can serve two masters; for he will either hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and Mammon.”

In the second group, there are actually those who would admit to serving the enemy.   Also in the second group are those are serving a false God or who immersed in a false religion.  The numbers of those who admit to openly serving Satan or evil are relatively few.   But, the numbers of those who are immersed in a false religion are staggering.   These people are the reason that those who are sold out to God believe in missions in order to spread the gospel around the world.

They third category is by far the largest.  These are the people who do not serve God, or Satan, or a false God.  They are the people who serve themselves.  They are people who commit the same sin that Satan and Adam and Eve Committed:  The commandment, “Thou shalt have no other God before me!”   Satan must have looked at God and decided that he wanted to be God and sit on God’s throne.  That led to Satan and a third of the angels being booted out of heaven.  Adam and Eve believed Satan’s lie, “If you eat that fruit, you will be just like God.”  They wanted to be their own gods.  The result was that mankind was separated from the creator.   The breaking of that great commandment brought about all of the woes of the universe.  Likewise, the breaking of that commandment brings about all of the woes in our lives today whether we are in church or outside the walls of the church building.

If God is not number one in your life, God cannot work the work he wants to work in your life.  If God is not number one in your life, the Holy Spirit will not strive with your spirit.  If God is not number one in your life, you cannot answer His call on your life.  If God is not number one in your life, you may not spend eternity with Him.

There are many important things in our lives.  If we have a family, they have great importance.  They can never be replaced.   If you have a job, that should be important to you.  A Spirit filled Christian dose their best on their job.   They do not just put in a days work.  Our nation is important to us.  We are to be the best citizen that we can be.  And, that doesn’t mean that we follow the crowd.  And we are not talking about politics.  A spirit filled Christian should be above politics.  There is absolutely nothing Christian about politics.  I think that we can observe this from our last election.

Our past time and leisure is important to us.  What we do to relax, if it’s legal and stands in the eyes of God, helps us to keep from going insane.   But, no team in sports or any sport is as important as God.  Don’t construct your life around sports or any other pastime.  The only celebrity was Jesus Christ.  All of the others put their clothes on just the same way your do.  They are just people and many of those folks celebrate are lost.

Everything needs to come under Christ and the two great commandments. “Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might.”  The second is, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”   All that we are hangs from these two commandments.

If you put all of the things that are important to you in this life in the hands of God and he will take care of them.   If he can bless them, keep them.  If He cannot bless them, then you need to get rid of those things that are not profitable.

Remember, God loves you.   But, you need to put him first.   It is not His will that any should perish.   We learn In John 3:16 that God loved us so much, that he sent his only begotten son that we could live eternally with Him.  We learn n John 3:17, that Jesus did not come to condemn the world.   But, in John 3:18, we read. “He that believeth is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Who do you serve?  Who do you owe allegiance to?  Who is number one in your life? God will take care of you and that special person or persons in your life if you will commit your life to him.   Remember, life is short and your time here on earth is precious.   Make the best of your moment in time.
